The Spokeshave tool is a hand tool used in woodworking to shape and smooth curved surfaces such as chair legs and other convex or concave shapes. The Spokeshave tool can have a curved or flat sole. The blade is usually adjustable and can be set to different depths for different types of cuts. Rider Spokeshaves have slightly wider handles and thus provide better control and stability during use. By pushing or pulling the tool across the surface of the wood, you can remove thin shavings to shape the workpiece.
