Leather sharpening strop in combination with a sharpening compound is suitable for refreshing the sharpness of your carving, hunting, or kitchen knife, chisel, or planer blade. Your blade may be sharp, but to keep it sharp for longer, it must be also polished. The polished blade is smooth and non-porous even at the micron level, which contributes to longer-lasting sharpness. Use leather to polish the blades, but for better results we recommend using leather in combination with a polishing substance. Stick the leather sharpening strop to a block of wood and you are ready to go.
